Ok, after a month of A to Z blogging I clearly needed another month to recover! But I am back now feeling refreshed and with all sorts of nice creations to share with you in the coming weeks.
I'd like to kick off my comeback with a piece that has been almost a year in the making - the original concept was bought to my attention during my time in Canada last summer by one of my best friends. We went to school together, lived and played together in the same village and since her move to Canada nearly 5 years ago, we have chatted online most days. So I love to exchange Christmas and birthday presents with her and when she showed me this, I decided I wanted to make it for her just as soon as I got home from Canada and back to a sewing machine.
Unfortunately it did take me a little longer to get around to in the end than expected. But a few weeks ago I finally gathered my supplies, threaded my needle (sewing machine forgotten) and put this together:
Although I was originally planning on making the cover from scratch, when I went in search of a suitable cushion pad I actually found one with a great cover that I could just sew this straight onto. I love it so much that I had a hard time packing it up and sending it!
